Pete graduated from Syracuse University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in photography. After graduation he taught at the Art League School, and later accepted a job in the photo department of Feld Entertainment. Within two years, he became head of Feld's photo department. During this time, he implemented a departmental reorganization and streamlined and digitized Feld's public relation images and the vast photo archives. Two years later, he left Feld to work as a digital specialist at a photo lab, where he honed his Photoshop skills by restoring and retouching digital images. All the while, planting the seeds to take the leap into full time freelance by shooting on the side.
